My name is Garrett, and I am the inventor of the Sanitary Sleeve System. With over 20 years of experience in the floor cleaning industry, I’ve seen it all—severe pet damage, pristine carpets, and everything in between. But one thing has always been a priority for me: to leave every home and business cleaner and safer than when I showed up.
The Challenge of Cross-Contamination
On any given day, I might clean anywhere from four to six properties. Some jobs involve cleaning up severe pet damage—urine, feces, and other contaminants—while others may involve a newly built home or business with pristine, nearly new carpets and upholstery. In many cases, these locations may have a vulnerable family member—especially a newborn baby crawling on the floor—or valuable, high-traffic areas that need special care.
The problem arises when we use the same hoses to clean different jobs. Without proper protection, the hoses you bring into a house can be contaminated with bacteria, mold, pet waste, allergens, and other harmful substances from previous jobs. These contaminants can then be transferred into another home or business, posing serious health risks. As a professional, this is something I knew I couldn’t ignore. That’s why the Sanitary Sleeve System is crucial.
The Solution: The Sanitary Sleeve System
The Sanitary Sleeve System was created to address the risk of cross-contamination head-on. By applying a disposable sleeve over the hoses used for each job, the system ensures that no contaminants are carried from one job to another. Every hose is protected with a new sleeve at the start of each job, ensuring harmful substances—whether pet damage, bacteria, mold, allergens, or anything else—are never brought into your home or business.
For families, especially those with vulnerable little ones, the Sanitary Sleeve System ensures that harmful contaminants from previous jobs are never transferred into your space. Your baby, crawling on the floor, should never be exposed to the risks carried by unclean equipment.
Health Risks for Families and Businesses
Carpets, tile, and upholstery—especially in homes or businesses with pets, moisture, or heavy foot traffic—can harbor harmful substances that pose serious health risks:
1. Allergens
Dust mites, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores can trigger asthma, allergies, and other respiratory issues, making it especially dangerous for infants, children, or sensitive employees.
2. Infections
Skin Infections: Bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus can live in carpets and upholstery, causing infections, especially in babies or employees with sensitive skin.
Fungal Infections: Wet or damp carpets and upholstery can grow fungi like Trichophyton, leading to infections like athlete's foot.
3. Stomach Illnesses
Norovirus and E. coli can be present in carpets, tile, and upholstery, leading to stomach illnesses, which are more severe for babies, children, or anyone with a weakened immune system.
4. Toxic Mold Syndrome
Black Mold: Wet carpets, tile, and upholstery can develop black mold, which produces mycotoxins harmful to the respiratory system.
5. Parasite Infections
Fleas, ticks, and other pests can thrive in carpets, upholstery, and even tile joints, leading to bites and the potential transmission of diseases like Lyme disease.
How the Sanitary Sleeve System Prevents Cross-Contamination
By using the Sanitary Sleeve System, you prevent contaminated hoses from being brought from one house to another. If you do not use the Sanitary Sleeve System, you risk introducing harmful contaminants into a new environment, potentially jeopardizing the health of the family, employees, or customers in that space.
The system ensures that every job is performed with clean, safe equipment—no cross-contamination, no harmful bacteria, no mold spores, and no allergens transferred from the previous property.
Leaving Your Home or Business Cleaner and Safer
For me, one of the most important things is to leave the home or business cleaner than when I showed up. Every job I do should not only restore your carpets, tile, or upholstery to their best condition but also ensure that your environment is a safer, healthier place. The Sanitary Sleeve System allows me to do just that—by preventing cross-contamination and protecting your space from potential harm.
This system isn’t just about cleaning; it’s about leaving your property in a better condition than it was before, free of harmful bacteria, allergens, and contaminants. Whether it’s a simple carpet cleaning, tile care, upholstery cleaning, or a more complex flood or fire restoration, I take pride in ensuring that your home or business is not just clean but safer for everyone who spends time there.
Additional Benefits: Protecting Your Property
In addition to preventing cross-contamination, the Sanitary Sleeve System helps protect your property from physical damage. Hoses often come into contact with walls, furniture, and upholstery, leaving scratches or marks. By providing a protective barrier, the system reduces the chances of such damage, helping to maintain the integrity of your space while also keeping it clean and safe.
Transforming Industry Standards
For decades, the floor cleaning and restoration industries have lacked a solution to the issue of cross-contamination and damage. The Sanitary Sleeve System addresses these concerns and raises the standard for cleanliness and safety in every home and business. This innovative product is not just about clean carpets, tile, or upholstery; it’s about protecting your family, your employees, and your customers from harmful substances that can linger in your space.

Carpets can harbor a variety of bacteria, allergens, and pathogens that can lead to several health issues. Here are some diseases and health problems associated with dirty or poorly maintained carpets:
1. Respiratory Issues
Asthma and Allergies: Carpets can trap allergens such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores, which can trigger asthma and allergic reactions.
Bronchitis: Inhaling dust and allergens from carpets can lead to bronchial irritation.
2. Infections
Skin Infections: Carpets can harbor bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, which can cause skin infections, especially if someone has cuts or abrasions.
Fungal Infections: Moisture in carpets can lead to the growth of fungi, such as Trichophyton, which can cause athlete's foot and other fungal infections.
3. Stomach Illnesses
Norovirus: Carpets can harbor norovirus, which can cause gastroenteritis, commonly known as stomach flu.
E. coli: Fecal contamination can lead to the presence of E. coli, which can cause severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting.
4. Toxic Mold Syndrome
Black Mold: If carpets get wet and are not dried properly, they can develop black mold (Stachybotrys chartarum), which produces mycotoxins that can lead to severe respiratory problems and other health issues.
5. Parasite Infections
Fleas and Ticks: Carpets can be a breeding ground for fleas and ticks, leading to bites and possible transmission of diseases like Lyme disease and tapeworms.
Regular cleaning and maintenance, including vacuuming, steam cleaning, and ensuring carpets are kept dry, can help minimize these health risks.
